Conservatives shudder at the notion of systemic racism. You will be hard-pressed to find any conservative openly admitting systemic racism is a problem.
Wait! Before you log off, please read this with an open mind. I've long struggled with how to speak to this issue.
On April 1, 2023, Sonnie Johnson - on Sonnie’s Corner, had a message for Donald Trump. On her show, she gave the blueprint for how conservatives should speak to systemic racism. Sonnie came out of the Tea Party movement and speaks to conservatives on SiriusXM Patriot at 1:00 ET every Saturday. She is a true conservative heavyweight. This article will summarize the connection Sonnie made between systemic racism and the systemic oppression that Donald Trump is facing.
Systemic racism, like its cousin systemic oppression, is the state's progressive policies used against the people.
Right now, conservatives are feeling the oppression of systemic, progressive laws used against them.
Sonnie details how historically progressive policies were weaponized against black people:
The FBI was weaponized against the black community
The force of the government was used to take out black leaders
The CIA interfered with black movements
Regulatory burdens were improperly used to steal property
Old laws were resurrected and used against black people
Restrictive gun regulations
Sound familiar?
The weaponization of laws by the government against Trump and conservatives isn't new. It's the same recycled "systemic oppression" that conservatives dismiss when black people complain about it.
And no! Acknowledging that systemic oppression exists does not make conservatives nor blacks victims.
Trump says he can't win in New York because the jury will be stacked with progressives. Black people know what it feels like to have an entire legal system stacked against them.
What is happening to Trump is an opportunity for conservatives to lean into rebuking systemic progressive oppression in all forms. Trump often says: If they can come for me, they will come for you.
Blacks know this all too well.
Systemic racism is progressivism! It's our common enemy.

Progressivism has always been the root problem. Progressive policies have ruined our cities and chip away at our republic. Black people sounded the alarm decades ago at how the state was weaponized against them.
Now it's happening to all conservatives.
