I grew up in Canada and never knew a black person until I was an adult and started traveling. We were not without our own 'racist' targets, however – Newfies, Polocks, Frenchies – but it wasn't until we moved to the US in '93 that I began to understand racism and what our own prejudices caused to those we maligned over the years.

I've started avoiding a lot of my conservative friends because of this very thing, they claim to care about children, family, tradition, free speech, hard work and individualism then they do stuff like this. I have seen so many of them rip on the wives or liberals or call their adopted children brats. No joke. I just don't think they get that they play in the left when they do this & it gets weaponized against them big time. I am not crazy about a lot of things that liberals have done & had to live with their bad choices but their kids & families are off limits to me as well as their education and abilities.

If you are going to belong to the party of law, order, tradition, family and hard work then please act like it once in a while. Sure the other side doesn't do that but that is what they are about. Some of them are downright destructive but that is what their identity is about, so acting like them isn't helpful at all. When they act out it doesn't effect them they way it does to conservatives. Sorry that is how it works.

Sure affirmative action exists, but no one wants to address the reason behind it or really make a good solution to get rid of it. And even if they aren't your favorite people if they can hold a marriage together or are willing to parent adopted kids then maybe give them some credit for doing something right even if it isn't a lot.
